5 Days 2 GO!!!

Last weekend we drove to Brisbane to get ready for having the baby. We split the trip up over two days with a night in Roma. Mia, Trish and the Dogs all travelled well, the biggest problem was Mia's dvd player which had a habit of stopping after being kicked or having the cable pulled out by swingining toddler legs, and we had to stop a number of times to restart Dora.

Dora, Dora the explorer..... we know it all off by heart :(

Note to self, need to find smaller DVD player that isn't within reach of swining feet.

We got to Brisbane and unloaded the trailer into our appartment in the valley. Small problem, one bed room appartment very nice but not very toddler friendly. Too many things for Mia to get into. So after a quick discussion with the managers, we moved to another appartment, that was more kid friendly. Except.... it was up three more flights of stairs, which Darren had to carry up all of the luggage. After a couple of days Trish found that the stairs were also too much for her pregnant legs and another appartment back at ground level became available. So we moved back down stairs. This one is smaller, but after buying another kid gate, we now can keep Mia out of the bedroom/bathroom area.

We have already done a fair bit of shopping and visiting people. One the first night we visited Darren's parents (they are looking after the Dogs, thank you heaps) and then Trisha's mum for dinner. Mia has spent some quality time with both lots of grand parents.

Darren has been working in the Brisbane RTCA office. Trish and Mia have been getting out and about with trips to Indooroopilly, Toowong and Chermside shopping centres. Today we went to the markets in the Valley before catching the train to the city and shopping some more. Mia showed us that she is really starting to grow up, she walked all of the way from Central Station to David Jones on the mall, then back from Central Station to our appartment in Spring Hill. To top it off we took her to New Farm Park later in the afternoon to let her run around in the kids playground. Last night she also walked most of the way around from the Kangaroo Point cliffs to the middle of South Bank Parklands.

Mia is sleeping well tonight.

The baby is due this Thursday and we can't wait for it to come into this world, and Trish can't wait to have her body back.

Bye for now.
